You are here: News > National Auction Activity
National auction activity saw a significant uplift in June, with 4,008 lots offered across the UK, up 35.3% year-on-year. Sales volumes also rose strongly, increasing 31.3%, although supply continued to outpace demand, resulting in the national success rate easing to 65.3%. Total funds raised increased by 33.5% to £519.7 million. Both the residential and commercial sectors delivered strong year-on-year growth in activity, sales and total raised.
Regionally, the South-West and Yorkshire and The Humber continued to record some of the strongest performances over the rolling April to June period, with both regions posting substantial growth in activity and sales. London also delivered another strong quarter, with lots sold and total funds raised both increasing by more than 20% year-on-year. Scotland recorded another sharp increase in activity, although success rates remained well below the national average.
Overall, the auction market continues to build on the momentum seen throughout the first half of the year. While higher stock levels are continuing to place some pressure on success rates, the increase in activity could also reflect landlords reviewing their portfolios following the introduction of the Renters' Rights Act in England in May (Note this is not in WALES).
Good to see All Wales Auction remains one of the top performing property auctioneers with a success rate of 85.7% V the Welsh national average of 61.3%
As the market moves into the summer period, activity levels remain healthy, supported by a steady flow of stock and sustained buyer demand.
